ClearScore enhances menopause and baby loss support

ClearScore has enhanced support for staff affected by the menopause or the loss of a baby.

The London-based credit score and report app, which has 460 employees, has signed Wellbeing of Women’s menopause workplace pledge and published a new menopause policy in support of those impacted by associated hormonal imbalances, including perimenopause and post-menopause.

The company is now offering women experiencing menopausal symptoms five days of paid leave per year for the first two years. Thereafter they will have personalised working patterns created to suit their individual needs.

Louise Jones, chief people officer at ClearScore, said: “We want to normalise the conversation on the menopause and at the same time provide extra support for employees who have menopausal symptoms that impact their work or their employee experience. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where our employees who are experiencing menopause-related symptoms are supported by ClearScore and their managers. “

In terms of time off for losing a baby, the company is offering an automatic one month of leave at any stage of the loss, and after six months male employees will get one month of leave while females will gain full maternity entitlement.

Jones added: “We have deep, personal awareness of the impact of baby loss and want to support staff at ClearScore by increasing leave time for the devastating impact of loss.”

Additionally, employees will be entitled to flexible working arrangements, including home and hybrid working, allowing them to attend appointments and cope with symptoms such as fatigue. Home equipment will be provided to ensure their working environment is comfortable.

ClearScore is also making medical support available, including in-person fortnightly GP appointments and round-the-clock online GP services. A menopause, women’s health and fertility education app, as well as a wellbeing app and employee assistance programme offering extensive, professional support, will also be provided.

The new policies follow the company’s launch of a maternity pension policy for working mums, providing full base pay employee pension contributions for the entire duration of their maternity leave.
