Workplace pension provider Aegon up for sale

Benefact Group has implemented an electric vehicle salary sacrifice for its employees in the UK as one of several measures introduced by the firm to reduce carbon emissions.

The Gloucester-based company, which is owned by charity Benefact Trust, teamed up with SG Fleet to provide the scheme.

The group launched the initiative as part of its goal to lower carbon emissions and reach net zero by 2040. During the company’s first birthday celebrations, employees were given the opportunity to take part in an electric car test drive day at Benefact House.

Chris Pitt, group impact director, said: “As a Group, we’re committed to making a positive social and environmental impact in our communities and believe in sharing in the responsibility to reach net zero.

“We’re making a great deal of progress including not investing in fossil fuels and moving to offices that are more energy efficient. But we’re also committed to helping our people to reduce their personal impact too; this scheme gives employees the opportunity to make their commute with much less impact on the environment and our communities.”

The financial services group, which owns Ecclesiastical Insurance, is also offering staff £1,000 towards fitting a charging point in their home to help with start-up costs.
