Attraction World Group has launched a new policy to help employees affected by the menopause.

The plan was introduced to offer “a straightforward approach to supporting staff experiencing menopausal symptoms”, according to the attraction tickets and experiences provider, which is based in Birmingham, UK.

Vanessa Matthews, head of operations who oversaw the policy’s creation, said: “Attraction World’s menopause policy will provide our staff with the support they require when dealing with a variety of symptoms that the menopause can bring, such as restlessness, anxiety, depression, and low self-confidence.

“Now that we have a support system in place, we believe we can speak honestly about how we feel, whether in a one-on-one conversation or through scheduling flexibility.”

A menopause awareness team will offer help and guidance to all 25-plus employees, including managers, on recognising and managing menopausal symptoms. Practical advice on coping strategies will also be made available to those who need it.

Attraction World believes the policy demonstrates its commitment to becoming an inclusive and people-first employer.

CEO Olly Nicholls added: “We are always looking at ways to support our team members as we build a new culture and surround that with core policies that allow for an engaged and spirited team.

“Having spoken with industry colleagues who had led the way with highlighting the effects of menopause, it was critical that we moved quickly on this policy.”

According to the business, the plan complements a variety of ongoing initiatives, including the work of its Pride committee which is focused on finding ways to ensure the company is more inclusive, as well as supporting attractions and events that are committed to equality.
